Portrait of Ruifeng Tan

Ruifeng Tan

Postdoctoral Fellow, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

I am an incoming postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Tianlong Zhang's group at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I received my PhD in Sustainable Energy and Environment from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), under the supervision of Prof. Tong-Yi Zhang, Prof. Jiaqiang Huang, and Prof. Jia Li. Previously, I received my B.Eng. in Computer Science and Technology from Wuhan University in 2022.

My research focuses on materials informatics, especially battery degradation prediction—including battery life prediction, degradation trajectory forecasting, and state-of-health estimation—and AI-driven materials optimization. I have contributed to or advised open-source projects including Time-Series-Library, BatteryML, BatteryLife, and Bgolearn.

I also serve as a reviewer for KDD, Applied Energy, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Journal of Power Sources, and Journal of Energy Storage.
